Easy rider dimensions created with the goal of making our most popular models even more approachable. After a year of JS riding more different boards than ever before alongside Occy and Parko, with an R&D process riddled with injuries, lower fitness levels & work obligations, JS designed our EasyRider specs for easy paddling coupled with high performance surfing. Foam is hidden in all the right places for extra floatation, but with lowered rails that can still be buried at high speed.

The Xero Fusion is a performance oriented, user friendly model for flatter faced waves. Positioned between the Xero Gravity all-rounder and the Sub Xero super groveller, this is our latest small wave weapon to fill an essential role in any surfers quiver.

Its been designed with the iconic and timeless Blak Box rocker with a new and updated blend of outline curves, modern rail shapes and a narrower swallow tail. This tail shape provides more outline curve from nose to tail enhancing the overall glide of the board in weaker conditions. The new Xero Fusion features a combination of extra foam distribution throughout the rail line leaving the volume where you need it. However, the rails are pulled down to create the sensitivity you need in a board with plenty of extra foam hidden throughout.

This has been a winning combination for JS throughout a lot of our favourite boards in recent years. Xero Fusion is incredibly fast due to the Blak Box rocker providing instant acceleration, suited even more to small waves compared to the Xero Gravity. The rocker is flat and designed to fly through any dead spot, yet enough curve enabling you to push and turn hard in the pocket.

The engine room includes a single concave under the front foot running into a double through the fins. This provides extra lift and control through critical sections. The Xero Fusion is an updated and modern alignment with the best-selling Blak Box model (ridden in the same dimensions). Look for the Easy Rider option also available for surfers who prefer more foam in a shorter board, with low rails to maintain manoeuvrability.

As the Xero Family evolves, JS continues to focus on adding to the strengths of our clear global favourites. We have tested dozens of combinations to create fresh ideas and found the ultimate 1-3ft step down model catering to so many locations around the world. EASY RIDER RAIL

EasyRider boards are specifically designed to suit these dimensions, with more foam hidden under the chest, but a slightly lower rail to maintain responsiveness and still allow turning at high speeds. Theyre not just blown up exactly from the regular dims, theyre based on the favourites from JS and Luke Egan finely tuned during extensive testing to get the perfect balance of performance and forgiveness.

CONCAVE

Single concave under front foot moves to double concave between the fins. Based on team favourites, JS chose to go back to his reverse concave which is deeper under front foot and shallower at each end of the board. We found this to be the fastest of them all, as it creates maximum water flow.

WHAT IS HYFI 3.0?

HYFI 3.0 is our next major upgrade to stay on the cutting edge of surfboard construction, utilising everything weve learnt from both HYFI2.0 and CarboTune, revolving around a full carbon bottom and rails. For HYFI 3, this provides even better strength and longevity of performance.

The main components are:

This new combination of layers gives you a snap back and lively torsion, so as you lean into a turn its always loading up and projecting you forward. For any weaker conditions requiring surfers to create their own excitement, its the best weve made yet.

SCALED ENGINEERING

We first built these scaled pins for use across the HYFI2.0 range, and after overwhelmingly positive feedback, weve continued with the same scaled pins in the deck of each HYFI 3. We found the next level of this technology by developing precision engineered stringers, or pins, which are scaled specifically for each board. The size of the pin changes depending on the dimensions of the HYFI, and therefore the weight of its intended rider. The shape of each boards pin perfectly reflects our goal of making the stiffest part of the board at the centre, tapering out to each end. This results in an even better flex pattern that helps you load and explode into turns.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

We discovered a lot throughout construction of the 100% carbon boards which became CarboTune. Its been tested by surfers of all sizes, in every type of wave, resulting in a technology thats been carefully tuned and adjusted for each set of dimensions we build. That means your next best board ever is made in HYFI 3.

What I really, really like about this construction is just how easy it is to surf. The spring and reaction time. With CarboTune, the harder you surf it, the more you get out of it because of the extra stiffness.
