Thunderbolt Surfboards Skindog Dynamic Double Scoop Surfboard, BRIGHT BLUE

TheDOUBLE SCOOPis our radical new design that puts a whole new twist to the modern noserider. Inspired from studying the way water flows over the tail during a noseride, this awesome new board allows a narrower tailed more performance single fin without compromising the lift and stability during critical noserides. This board has been designed combining Ben’s love and passion for Surfing and Formula 1.

Using the science of aerodynamics and transferring it into this board using hydrodynamics and how to create down-force for lift in the nose. When stepping back from the noseride with the wide point back, you have more curve between your feet when on the tail.
Combined with the concave behind the fin, to allow for sharper, smoother and more powerful turns.

Whilst keeping the same concept of this new and unique design, we have two slightly different styles in outline for different feels in wave type or individual surfing styles, for a different feel whilst surfing on the tail. we have the created the “OG Double Scoop” and the “Dynamic Double Scoop”

Both of these Double Scoop outlines use a spoiler effect (flip) in the tail of the board, with a deep double concave shaped into the deck through the back 1/3 of the board. This captures the water flow onto the deck whilst in a noseride, and directs the water to engage more with the flip in the tail, thus holding more water (and weight) to create the extra lift and speed control needed for intense, long and stable noserides in both the OG and Dynamic.

The difference between the Original and the Dynamic model’s is subtle to the eye but noticeable under foot! The two main differences are;
The “Dynamic” model has been given a 3-4 inch long hard edge in the tail of the board, which gives more control in punchier waves.
This has been paired with a narrower hip on the board, which by combining these features gives the board a more dynamic feel. while the “OG” has the original curvier outline with no hard edge for that more classic feeling whilst surfing on the tail.

Thunderbolt Technology utilizes advanced materials and technology to decrease weight while enhancing performance, flex characteristics, board control, and durability. Mass-produced epoxy boards are corky and stiff. While light and durable, they simply dont ride well. But Thunderbolts hand-built boards take superior epoxy materials to an entirely different level. These boards provide the feel and sensitivity of a good poly board, but deliver performance far beyond traditional epoxy pop-out constructions. Indeed, those who ride these high-tech epoxy boards claim they actually feel better than polyurethane.

Thunderbolt Surfboards are 100% hand layups. They begin with an EPS foam core with multi-component carbon fiber stringer systems that produce engineered flex and twist for a more lively, responsive performance. Proprietary designs employing internal carbon fiber components are then arrayed in the deck and bottom of the deck for precise flex control and strength.

The core shield PVC provides flexible protection to increase strength and durability without compromising the flex and twist characteristics built into the blank. With ample carbon fiber and fiberglass in the deck, bottom, and rails, these boards both outperform and outlast traditional PU boards and other epoxy designs.
